Welcome back! It’s the summer term and we can’t wait to get started on our new topics, this term is Land Ahoy! which is a new topic for Year 2. At the end of our topic we will be celebrating with a pirate themed day on the last day of term.

Our learning for this term is based on our topic ‘Land Ahoy!’

We will be learning all about the seas, oceans and continents around the world that pirates would have visited when they were roaming the seven seas! We will find out about infamous pirates and what they used to do that made them so fearsome. We will think about what it would be like to live on the seas and how the pirates found their way using maps and compasses. We will have lots of opportunities to learn across the curriculum during this topic and although it’s only a short term we will be very busy!

Key Reminders:

We will be using Class Dojo as the main form of communication between home and class teacher(s). This be viewed and responded to between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm. Please note, this is for learning support only; absences and other whole school related issues need to be relayed to the main school office.
Class Dojo will be used to notify you if your child has been chosen for an award for our Friday Celebrations assembly in the hall at 9am.
Our main PE days are Monday and Wednesday with some additional sessions on Fridays linked to our PSHE work.
